This week we rolled out a new fresh look for the go.Platform, our flagship ticketing and reservation system from The Flybook. Our focus with this launch has been on the "User Interface" or "UI." In the technology world, User Interface (UI) is a combination of multiple design elements that influence how people interact with an application. UI involves many variables including overall structure, colors, spacing, symmetry, amount of text, fonts and more.
Not only do these elements make an application pleasing to look at, but they make it easy to use. Ultimately, our goal is to continue to make your experience with the go.Platform intuitive and efficient as you use it every day. We aim to be as simple, straightforward and functional across our broad range of user needs.
Everything you loved about the go.Platform yesterday should still exist and remain unchanged today. The changes you'll see throughout the system will be noticed both consciously and subconsciously. Rather than big, sweeping functional changes, the differences you'll see are much more focused on maintaining a modern look for the platform while ensuring all the rapid developments we do each week are applied consistently throughout the entire system. A few of our favorite improvements are captured below, but the engineers at The Flybook have been hard at work, and there are too many small-but-mighty improvements to mention.
We believe the go.Platform has the best user interface in the industry, and provides an excellent user experience. Our goals of this new look and feel is to help you:
As always, we want to hear from you. After you've spent some time with the new UI, please let us know what you think and what we can do to keep improving upon it to make your experience great.
