FEATURE ANNOUNCEMENT: Refund Guarantee by Spot Is Now Live in The Flybook

Written by Leif Johnson | Feb 16, 2026 11:02:57 PM

We’re excited to introduce a highly anticipated new integration that gives operators stronger protection, customers more flexibility, and your team fewer refund headaches.

Refund Guarantee by Spot is now available in The Flybook.

This new feature has been in the works for a while, and we’re thrilled to officially bring it to all operators. With Refund Guarantee, your guests can choose added peace of mind at checkout - while you gain a powerful tool that protects revenue, reduces exceptions, and supports more consistent cancellation policies.

What Is Refund Guarantee?

Refund Guarantee is an optional customer add‑on powered by Spot that allows guests to cancel for any reason, up to 24 hours before their booking. When customers opt in, Spot handles the entire process, from support to refund payout, while you retain 100% of the booking value.

There’s no cost to operators, no operational overhead, and no accounting work required. It’s flexibility for guests without any revenue loss for you.

Why Operators Love It

✔ No Cost, No Extra Work

Customers pay directly for the coverage, and Spot manages all support and payouts. You keep the full booking amount.

✔ Double Revenue Potential

If a canceled unit gets rebooked, you receive revenue for both bookings.

✔ Stronger Revenue Protection

Refund Guarantee reduces the pressure to make one‑off exceptions. It becomes easier to reference your cancellation policy with confidence:
Our cancellation policy is as stated, and Refund Guarantee was available at checkout.

✔ Supports Stricter Cancellation Policies

If you’ve been considering tightening your cancellation terms, Refund Guarantee creates a smoother path to shift policies without sacrificing customer flexibility.

How It Works for Your Guests

Customers who select Refund Guarantee at checkout can:

  • Cancel for any reason

  • Receive 80% back (product cost, taxes, and fees)

  • Request a refund anytime from booking up to 24 hours before their start time

  • Change booking dates - coverage automatically adjusts

  • Receive coverage on full bookings

All payouts and support are fully managed by Spot.

FAQs

Q: How are the coverage costs paid and collected by Spot?

The premiums for Spot coverage are paid by the customer at checkout along with their reservation payments and collected by you. Flybook will then invoice you monthly (as part of your normal software billing) for any premiums collected during the prior month - those funds are then paid to Spot.

Q: What does Refund Guarantee cover?

Cancellations for any reason up to 24 hours before the booking, refunded at 80%.

Q: When can customers request a refund?

Anytime from booking until 24 hours prior to their start time.

Q: Who handles the refund process?

Spot manages all refund requests, support, eligibility checks, and payouts. You retain the full original booking value.

Q: Can customers change their booking date?

Yes. Coverage automatically updates to match the new date. If the new date is more expensive, the customer is charged the difference in premium.

Q: What if I issue a refund directly?

Spot’s Refund Guarantee becomes void and the customer forfeits their Spot refund.

Q: What happens if the canceled unit is rebooked?

You receive payment for the original booking and the rebooked one—doubling revenue.

Q: Is Refund Guarantee available for existing bookings?

No. It is only offered at checkout for new bookings.

Q: Is there a coverage limit?

Yes. Refund Guarantee is available for bookings up to $5,000.

Q: How does it work with deposits?

Deposits and partial payments at checkout are not currently supported with the initial release of this integration. Support for deposits will be added in a future update.

Getting Started with Spot Refund Guarantee

Spot is currently enabled by The Flybook team on an account‑by‑account basis. Because deposits and partial payments aren’t supported in the initial release, our admins will turn the feature on for operators individually to ensure it’s a fit for your workflow.

Want it enabled? Contact Flybook Support and we’ll switch it on for your account.
