"Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future" - John F. Kennedy
We spend time everyday helping business owners, managers, and key players navigate the "change process." No matter how great The Flybook reservation management system is, the one thing that it always is....is new. With anything "new" means that something just became different.
Fast forward... you've bought a new pair shoes. Expectations are high! You are starting to channel your inner child. Thinking about how fast these new shoes are going to make you. The Olympics might be your next race! First you put them on. Its like magic the new technology in these shoes fit my feet perfect including that funky pinky toe.
You go for that first run, and the shoes held up great despite the small blister on your heel. The blister is uncomfortable, but you know its short lived. One more run and you are back to your Olympic training schedule. And the days of duct taping your soles to your shoes are history.
We have identified 3 tips to help make the change process like changing your shoes:
Go Slow to Go Fast
- Take your time, and learn the fundamentals of the new product or system. The more you understand the new tool the better you will be able to apply it to your business.
Remove the Duct Tape
- Take time to evaluate your current operations and look for procedures and behaviors that the new system can alleviate, or even better eliminate.
Blisters are Temporary
- Adopting any new system is going to cause a few "blisters." Time and effort will heal your pain, and you will be on your way!
