Faces of Flybook: Laura Kinney

We asked our team members a little Q&A, so that you could learn more about the faces behind Flybook! Get to know Laura Kinney, AKA "Kinney" AKA "Kick-ass Kinney" below!

What is your job at The Flybook?

I am a Flybook Advisor. I advise clients on how to use the software to meet their needs.

Are you local to Bend?

I was born and raised in California but moved out to Fort Collins, Colorado for college. I spent a couple of years bouncing around to different mountain towns until ultimately landing in Bend, Oregon.

What are some of your favorite things to do?

Camping, snowboarding, rafting, cooking.

How would your family or friends describe you in 3 words?

Loyal, empathetic, fun.

What led you to the Flybook?

I have been working in seasonal industries for over ten years, alternating between ski resorts and guiding rivers. Although this lifestyle has introduced me to some incredible people over the years, I was ready to settle down into a more career-style of work (wasn't sure how long my shoulder was going to last on the river anymore...) I love that The Flybook is a collective of like-minded outdoorsy people, whether that's my coworkers or our users.

What are you currently reading or watching?

I am binging the previous seasons of Alone; a self-documented survival series competition.

What is your favorite feature of the Flybook product?

Bulk edit = lifesaver!

If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Sandwiches; there are so many different types that I wouldn't get bored. Or anything with avocado, really bring out that Californian in me.

What do you like most about your job?

I love that it forces technical thinking and problem-solving.
